Credit Suisse set Google target new high $900

"We believe that search is a natural monopoly business and expect that over time Google will continue to gain share until they have effectively reached 100 percent," Credit Suisse analyst Heath Terry advised investors in a note on Tuesday.

Credit Suisse raised its target on Google Inc to $900 from $800, citing anticipated growth over the next five years in online advertising by corporate brands and local marketers and ads on mobile phones.

These are natural extensions of Google's vast business delivering text ads alongside Web search results, Terry said.

Over time, Google will become 'the de facto 'operating system' for advertisers, providing them with the dashboard to monitor and optimize their advertising,' creating 'tremendous value' for stockholders, he wrote.

Google should benefit from increasing market share gains as its mounting scale makes it more difficult for rivals to justify the heavy investments in technology necessary to keep pace in the search market. Google's search business can grow 38 percent a year over the next five years, Terry forecast.

In the last few years, Google has gained a percentage point of Web search market share every two months, implying an ever-growing audience for its ad business, Terry said.

Credit Suisse forecast the U.S. online advertising market would grow 27.5 percent in 2007 and 28.3 percent in 2008.

So we can see 4Q result to be Good

SAN FRANCISCO—Silicon Valley's richest bachelor is getting married next month.
Google Inc. co-founder Larry Page, whose stake in the Internet search leader is worth about $20 billion, and Lucy Southworth are tying the knot in a ceremony scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 8, according to a report published Tuesday in the San Francisco Chronicle.

Page, 34, is following in the footsteps of Google's other founder, Sergey Brin, who married Anne Wojcicki six months ago in an exclusive ceremony in the Caribbean. The wedding location of Southworth and Page was not disclosed.

After Brin's wedding, Mountain View-based Google invested $3.9 million in Wojcicki's biotechnology startup, 23andMe Inc.

Southworth was a biomedical informatics doctoral student at Stanford University, where both Page and Brin were studying as graduate students before leaving to start Google in 1998. Page has been dating Southworth for more than a year.

The invitation list to Page's wedding is expected to include many of Google's current and former employees, as well San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and billionaire Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group.

Former Vice President Al Gore, a senior adviser at Google, told the Chronicle he has been invited to the wedding, but won't be able to make it because he will be picking up the Nobel Peace Prize at a ceremony in Oslo, Norway. He said he still hopes to make an appearance through video conferencing.

The Annoucement .

Google is not coming out with Google Phone but Google's software for mobile phones .
Codename "Android".

The long-rumored entry into the mobile phone market, Google said it would start next week by allowing independent designers to play with its software .Google-based phones are due to in market second half 2008 .

Google will provide "Android" for the members of Google's Mobile Alliance to use .

Members of Google's Mobile Alliance
Motorola, China Mobile, Sprint Nextel, Telecom Italia, Telefónica, Deutsche Telekom, Broadcom, Intel, Marvell Technology Group, Nvidia, SiRF Technology, Synaptics, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, eBay (which owns the Internet calling service Skype), NMS Communications, Nuance Communications, NextWave Wireless, Wind River Systems ,HTC, LG, Samsung

The handset companies, including HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung will be available in the United States through T-Mobile and Sprint using Google mobile OS.
The phones will also be available through the world’s largest mobile operator, China Mobile, with 332 million subscribers in China, and the leading carriers in Japan, NTT DoCoMo and KDDI, as well as T-Mobile in Germany, Telecom Italia in Italy and Telefónica in Spain.

Google is giving the software away to others who will build the phones. The company invested heavily in the project to ensure that all of its services are available on mobile phones. Its ultimate goal is to cash in on the effort by selling advertisements to mobile phone users, just as it does on Internet-connected computers.

Since Google is offering the software for free, Rubin said operators may pass along something like 10 percent savings to customers through phone subsidies or lower monthly fees.
